Personal Quotes
I know right now she has no idea who I am, but I'd like to collaborate with Enya one day. Of course I'd love to work with Jay-Z, maybe even Phil Collins. I love his voice.

Don't get it twisted. It's not about money, it's not about the fame. It's about I don't have to worry about if my little brother is gonna be able to get a new toy for Christmas. It's those little tiny things that really make up the bigger picture. So, my happiness doesn't come from money or fame. My happiness comes from seeing life without struggle.

When you're a girl, you have to be everything, You have to be dope at what you do, but you have to be super sweet, and you have to be sexy, and you have to be this and you have to be that and you have to be nice, and you have to-- it's like, i can't be all of those things at once. I'm a human being.

I don't think intimidated is the word. I definitely get excited by it. I don't want to let anybody down. I've always been the type of person to make everybody happy and get things done. I want everything to be 100% perfect. I do feel it when people hold me to high expectations.

I am so territorial, that [from the start] I just felt like whatever I was gonna do I was gonna write it myself, its my personal preference to always be in control of everything I do in life.

Wayne has always been my biggest influence. It's weird because I sit down and talk to Wayne like he's just a regular human being, and then I walk on stage with him and there's 20,000 people screaming for him.

[on Britney Spears] Britney is a beautiful girl, I love her. She's a sexy girl. I'll have to recruit her for my Barbie army.

[on Britney Spears] She reminds me of my best friend, which is really, really weird. So, whenever I see her, I feel at peace for some strange reason.
Minaj released her first mixtape Playtime Is Over in 2007 with Dirty Money Records. Her second mixtape, Sucka Free, was released on April 12, 2008 under the label Be. She won the Female Artist of the Year award at the 2008 Underground Music Awards shortly after. On April 18, 2009, Minaj released her third mixtape Beam Me Up Scotty under the label of Trapaholics Records; it received positive coverage on both BET and MTV. She also appeared in XXL magazine during this time.
In August 2009, Minaj signed a record deal with Young Money Entertainment, with distribution from Universal Motown Records, after fellow American rapper Lil Wayne discovered her on The Come Up DVD. Minaj generated significant attention when she first appeared on Yo Gotti's 5 Star Chick video, which gave her mainstream success with the urban community. At the request of Jay-Z, Minaj was asked to feature on Robin Thicke's single Shakin' It 4 Daddy. Following the guest appearance, Minaj was given a solo rap verse in the single "BedRock". The record garnered huge commercial success, reaching number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. She also appeared on "Roger That," which charted at number 56. The song, particularly Minaj, received positive reviews from critics. In December 2009, both songs were included in Young Money Entertainment's debut collaborative studio album We Are Young Money. The album charted in the top ten on the Billboard 200, reaching number 9 and later receiving a Gold Certification by the RIAA. Minaj was featured on Mariah Carey's "Up Out My Face" and its music video. The collaboration was well received by critics.
Who is Nicki Minaj?
Where is Nicki Minaj from?
What is Nicki Minaj real name?
Where was Nicki Minaj born?
How did nicki minaj become famous?
Where did nicki minaj grow up?

Onika Maraj (Born December 8, 1984) known as Nicki Minaj is a female rapper from Southside Jamaica, Queens, NewYork. She grew up in a troubled home, with a father on drugs and a struggling single mother. Despite her hectic environment, Minaj went on to graduate from LaGuardia High School in Manhattan where she studied singing and acting.

Working as an administrative assistant, she dedicated all of her free time to pursuing a potential music career. Nicki Minaj started off singing, from background vocals, to hooks for local rappers. Minaj wanted to “stand out” more, from the average dime-a-dozen young aspiring singer and began writing raps. Starting out as the lone female in a group, (which she left in 2006)

Nicki soon branched out and was noticed on Myspace by Dirty Money CEO Fendi. Who signed her and put her on the front of his Dirty Money Label, and his The Come Up DVD.

Appearing on The Carter Edition of the DVD series, Minaj was noticed by rapper Lil’ Wayne who immediately called Fendi to negotiate meeting Nicki. He was convinced by not only her different style of rapping, but her ability to full on write her own material that she was perfect to be the face of his Young Money label. The two collaborated on mixtape styled remakes of tracks such as “Sunshine”, “Big Spender” and more recently a song entitled “Higher than a Kite” which uses T.I.’s “My Swag” beat. In April of 2007, she released her first mixtape entitled Playtime is Over. Where she posed as a Barbie doll on the cover. Lil’ Wayne appeared on the track “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop”.

Nearly a year later, Minaj released her second mixed cd titled Sucka Free. Controversy surrounded this as Nicki paid tribute to rapper Lil’ Kim by posing with her legs spread for promotional posters. She describes it as something to “pull people in”, so that they would listen to what she had to say. Nicki Minaj graced the pages of the July issue of the XXL magazine giving a brief overview of her life up to that point in time.

Originally using her real last name Maraj, Nicki boasts she started calling herself Minaj because she started “eating chicks”, with her vicious rap skills. Its pronounced as Menage, only spelled to compliment her real last name with a J instead of the traditional spelling.

Aside from her original moniker, Minaj also uses an array of Aka aliases to describe herself, such as; “Nicki Lewenski”, and “AKA Sit on your favorite rapper’s face”

Funny People Faces Definition

It was hardly an accident that 22-year-old Barbra Streisand seemed to embody the comedian Fanny Brice so perfectly in the 1964 Broadway musical “Funny Girl.” According to celebrity biographer William J. Mann, the role was deliberately tailored to fit her — after she had tweaked her own image to win the part from a producer, Ray Stark, who happened to be married to Brice’s daughter.
In the case of “Funny Girl,” life and art borrowed from each other, to spectacular effect. The show and subsequent movie made Streisand a cultural icon — a status that, at 70, she has yet to relinquish.
Mann, the author of well-regarded biographies of Katharine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, reminds us that Streisand’s success didn’t involve decades of anonymity and struggle. By any reasonable standard, her ascent from wannabe actor to nightclub singer to award-winning stage, screen, television and recording star was meteoric.
But Streisand’s celebrity was not quite as sudden as it seemed, and neither luck nor talent alone could have guaranteed it. In “Hello, Gorgeous: Becoming Barbra Streisand,” Mann depicts not just her ferocious ambition and equally fierce insecurities (no surprises there), but also the people and strategies that enabled her rise. With many of those acolytes and assistants as sources, Mann provides an intimate, gossipy and sympathetic account of early Streisand that still manages to stop short of hagiography.
Telescoping her unhappy childhood and her long post-“Funny Girl” career into a few brief pages each, Mann concentrates on the five-year period after Streisand’s departure from the modest Brooklyn apartment that reeked of both unresolved mother-daughter tensions and the kale that Streisand’s mother used to make chicken soup.
Diana Rosen Streisand Kind had been an aspiring singer, accepted at one point into the Metropolitan Opera’s chorus. But Rosen’s father, an Orthodox cantor (yet another generation of musical talent), “objected to how late she got home, so that was the end of that,” Mann reports. Instead, Rosen married the intellectually inclined Emanuel Streisand, a teacher. But he died of respiratory failure after a morphine injection for epilepsy, leaving behind a son, Sheldon, and 15-month-old Barbara Joan.
After getting pregnant, Streisand’s mother was married again, this time to a reluctant Louis Kind. Mann describes him as a coarse philanderer who hit his wife and told his stepdaughter that she was ugly. Diana eventually got divorced, but the damage was done. For some reason, she was always hard on her daughter, expressing her pride only to friends; as Mann poignantly describes, the two never seemed emotionally in sync.
With no real father figure and a less-than-adoring mother, Barbra (she dropped the second “a” to stand out) was driven by the voracious need for approval that bedevils, and inspires, many performers. By 16, she was living in Manhattan, taking acting lessons and meeting a series of gay men who would help shape both her personal style and musical repertoire — among them Terry Leong, who took her thrift-store shopping, and Bob Schulenberg, who did her makeup.
Mann gets very close to the young Barbra, thanks to sources such as Schulenberg and Barry Dennen, who was probably her first lover. Dennen reports that he introduced her to a range of musical influences and suggested that she enter talent contests at a gay club, the Lion; she won repeatedly, launching her singing career. Dennen, an aspiring actor, helped select, arrange, and orchestrate her songs.
Their relationship, as he recalls it, revolved around Streisand and her ambitions. When he performed in a play in Central Park, Streisand never managed to find time to see him — an act of negligence that apparently still rankles. Mann attributes the lapse to her “usual self-absorption.”
Whatever his excuses, Dennen, Mann tells us, broke Streisand’s heart. She walked into their shared apartment one day to find him in the arms of a man. Their relationship, unsurprisingly, never recovered.

These nouns denote varying degrees of marked displeasure. Anger, the most general, is strong displeasure: vented my anger by denouncing the supporters of the idea.
Rage and fury imply intense, explosive, often destructive emotion: smashed the glass in a fit of rage; directed his fury at the murderer.
Ire is a term for anger most frequently encountered in literature: "The best way to escape His ire/Is, not to seem too happy" (Robert Browning).
Wrath applies especially to anger that seeks vengeance or punishment: saw the flood as a sign of the wrath of God.
Resentment refers to indignant smoldering anger generated by a sense of grievance: deep resentment that led to a strike.
Indignation is righteous anger at something wrongful, unjust, or evil: "public indignation about takeovers causing people to lose their jobs" (Allan Sloan).
Why call a child ‘Zev’ or ‘Orli’? Baby naming is akin to developing a brand for a person. For Jews, it tells the world who we are — and that we’re not afraid to let them know.
We’re lucky to have Jews who can write seven-figure checks to charity. But that doesn’t mean the rest of us shouldn’t chip in with our two-figure good deed.
David Brooks waxed rhapsodic over Orthodox Jews, who may be the only ones he imagines shopping at a kosher supermarket. That was when Jordana Horn started getting a little angry.
Jordana Horn may be about to join synagogue No. 4. Not everyone has to be a multiple shul member, but she wants all of us to belong to at least one.
Second, even after having taught constitutional law and sticking by the constitution, he is charged with violating the constitution! And movements like "taking back our country" rallies are held - taking the country back from whom? taking the country back to which century? He has to even circumvent appointing people to head agencies to avoid republican stonewalling!
Third, if Obama's popularity was high, one can accuse him of trying to do nothing to keep his approval ratings up. But that is not the case. His approval ratings are low..

By saying this, I am not saying that he has done everything right. But we need to know the ground realities instead of coming up with statements like he is not doing anything for us. He is stonewalled everywhere on every issue! For us to bring our issues to the forefront, as some one suggested, we need to get the media to understand our problems and ask the right questions. It all boils down to us being active!!
I'm not doing any favor to any body and I'm just protecting my life and my friends life. Why would any H1 guy take that risk even if his Green card application is pending and even when he is discriminated purposefully based on his country of origin in POE also in USCIS? These two issues are interconnected to each other such as buying a house for living long term in US and his application is pending due to failed immigration policies even though his employer is interested to have his services at higher priority. When few rude CBP officers don't let him to enter in to US even if he has valid VISA to work in US and even if his company needs his valuable services to the slowly rising US economy, what's the point in buying a home even though selling can be done through some Power of attorney at loss in future from home country (it becomes biggest blunder of my life if I do that) ?? You would realize when it becomes your turn at the POE. 1% will become 10% in no time if you don't react.

It sounds like your argument is like my granny's old saying 'Cat(who is considered as thief in that neighborhood) jumps in to somebody's kitchen, drinks milk by closing her eyes and she feels that nobody is watching her'. I can't make that risk by buying a house in this limbo situation though I have an interest to live in US to realize my American dream since my childhood.

Yes Sir, very true: "People do not buy house to sell it". I am not suggesting that you buy a house and sell it, I am suggesting that in case you plan on buying the house .. don't get intimidated by the bad immigration experience of few folks. My point is that in worst case scenario, if you have to go back to India (which is less than 1% chance), there are ways to deal with house situation.
Your situation is slightly different than many I have come across. If your qualifications, research work, project etc have unique qualities, then you may still have a fighting chance. But you may have to do a lot of homework: find out NIW holders in your / related engg field, ask a few lawyers: do not believe right away if somebody promises they could, try to enroll in as many professional associations as possible, enlarge your skill portfolio etc.
1. there is now another way to contribute, iv-merchandise is finally here, please visit the site, there are various exciting options. you can buy iv t shirts mugs, stickers, magnets et al also if you use common web merchants through the iv link, some small piece of revenue will flow to iv at no cost to you! this could be a hotwire plane/hotel/car booking, american express card or much more. see the link on the home page and the thread from english august.

2. iv action items are more than just monetary contributions. folks we need your time and effort too, those who have not- please consider volunteering for help with rally preparations- there is a lot to be done, does not matter where you are located. and of course - hope to see you in DC 9/18!
I dont think you need to be worried. my friend( Came to US in 2003 after working in offshore with the same company for 2 years, but his company filed his GC only in 2006) got this interview in March 2008, they reviewed all his papers(W2's, Birth Certificate, all Employment letters) and said that its ready to go when PD becomes current. His PD is 2006 March ( Perm),EB3, I 140 Approved , and now he is waiting for his dates to become current to get the GC. His case is pre-adjudicated and is ready to be released as per USCIS. His attorney didnt go for the Interview.

One of friend attend the interview in Feb. 2008 his PD is Dec2006 EB2,they asked him his birth certificates,W2,recent pay slips proof for his current employment, after the interview they told him that your case has been approved but you need to wait until your PD gets current.

Once again, it's that time of year when kids busily dress up into a variety of costumes and go from one door to another knocking "Trick or treat!" Yes, it is Halloween once more and surely, as early as now, children are excitedly planning their different ideas for their Halloween costumes. Now, Halloween may be a time for scare but likewise, it is also a time for fun and pranks. So instead of scaring your kids way to trick or treat, why don't you get them, or better yet, make them a funny costume they can wear. Not only will it help you save some bucks, it will also cater to your creative instincts and would also add more fun and laughs in your kids' experience. To help you out with those funny Halloween costume ideas, here are some tips you can use.

For this Halloween, you might want to have your kids to have a yummy or healthy look so you can go for vegetable or fruit-inspired costumes. The variety of choices you can go for are endless, from carrots, to pumpkins, which are popular this season, to grapes and more.

For a carrot-inspired costume that is very easy to make, all you need are some orange felt, an orange ski cap, and some glue and scissors. The steps are relatively simple. First, you cut the orange felt into a size that can fit your kid's physique. You can fit the felt by wrapping it around your kid then glue the side together. Mark a spot for armholes then cut them. Then, have your kid wear the orange ski cap to complete the look of a carrot stick.

Another easy-to make costume is one inspired by grapes. You need to have green or purple sweats, or long sleeves and pants of the same color will do, green or purple balloons, some safety pins, glue, purple or green paint and a piece of green felt. Using fabric and balloons of the same color, what you need to do is to pin the balloons into the fabric in a triangular shape. You can have decreasing number of balloons as you go down a layer. When you're done, take the piece of felt and make it into a hat. It will be best to glue the sides together to secure them in shape. Then, for the final touch, paint your kids face with the same color as the balloons.

For a classic funny choice, you can also have your child go as a jack-in-the-box. Color your child's white. You can use white powder or make-up. Then paint the typical clown's face over it using dark makeup. You can give the child a wig or a funny headdress then let him wear clothes in bright color. Have a box painted in bright colors. You can choose any design you want. Cut a hole at the middle that would fit your child's waist. Put together the entire ensemble and you'll have yourself a
